In an effort to combat stiff competition in the telecom market and retain its customer base, Vodafone Idea (Vi) has launched a new prepaid recharge plan priced at Rs 202. This new offering comes bundled with over 13 OTT subscriptions and an array of additional benefits. Despite its launch, the plan is currently accessible solely via the mobile app and is yet to be featured on the official Vi website.

No Specific Service Validity: The Vi recharge plan priced at Rs 202 does not specify a service validity, aligning its expiration with the end of the current base plan.

 

Access to OTT Subscriptions: Subscribers can enjoy access to various streaming services such as Disney+ Hotstar, SonyLiv, SunNXT, Yupp TV, Shemaroo Me, Hungama, and Discovery for 30 days.

 

Base Plan Requirement: Existing customers need to maintain an active base plan to avail themselves of the benefits offered by this new plan.

Plan Exclusivity: The Rs 202 recharge plan is currently available only on the Vi mobile app and is not yet listed on the official website.

Recent data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) revealed the dynamics of the telecom market:

 

Industry Rankings: Reliance Jio secured the highest number of new customers in July, closely followed by Airtel. Conversely, both BSNL and Vi witnessed a decline in users during the same period.

 

Subscriber Statistics: Reliance Jio maintains its top position with 442.49 million subscribers, trailed by Airtel with 244.41 million users. Vi records 124.27 million users, while BSNL holds 20.87 million.

 

As Vi launches this innovative plan, it’s a strategic move to fortify its position amidst fierce competition and evolving consumer demands in the telecom sector.
