Samsung has introduced its highly anticipated Self-Repair program in nine European countries, marking an exciting development for Galaxy users in the region. After a successful debut in Korea, this expansion allows customers in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, and the UK to take control of their device repairs.

Enhancing Device Lifespan through Self-Repair

The Self-Repair program empowers users to maintain the longevity of their devices through proper maintenance and self-repair. By providing repair kits and authentic Samsung parts, Galaxy owners can now enjoy an optimized experience on their devices for extended periods. The program covers popular models such as the Galaxy S20, S21, and S22 series, along with the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360. Samsung’s commitment to improving user experience and device repairability is evident in their statement. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, emphasized their dedication to scaling access to the Self-Repair program worldwide while simultaneously enhancing product repairability.

Expansion into Europe and Strategic Partnerships

Originally launched in the United States in 2022, the Self-Repair program’s European expansion involved strategic collaborations with prominent smartphone parts distributors in the region. Key partners include ASWO, a leading after-sales service and electronics specialist based in Germany, and 2Service, a Dutch electronics parts supplier and authorized Samsung distributor.

Self-Replacement of Essential Components

Galaxy users in Europe can now replace essential components themselves, such as phone screens, back glass, and charging ports for the Galaxy S20, S21, and S22 series. Additionally, owners of the Galaxy Book Pro series gain access to seven genuine parts, including the case front, case rear, display, battery, touchpad, power key with fingerprint reader, and rubber feet. Customers will receive the necessary repair tools and can retain them for future use, ensuring a convenient and hassle-free experience whenever repairs are required.

Future Plans and Environmental Impact

Samsung’s future plans for the Self-Repair program involve expanding the range of supported devices, providing additional repair tools and manuals, and exploring new markets. By doing so, Samsung aims to empower Galaxy customers with a wider array of options to repair their technology and reduce their environmental impact.
