Apple’s AirTag, the popular tracking device that helps users locate their belongings, may not see a new iteration until 2024, according to prominent analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. While the current AirTag, launched in April 2021, has been a useful tool for many, users eagerly anticipate what the next generation will bring.

The AirTag has proven to be a valuable companion, aiding in the search for lost items like keys, wallets, and more, by leveraging Apple’s Find My network. However, as technology continues to advance, it’s natural to wonder what improvements Apple can make to this already innovative device.

Ming-Chi Kuo offered insights into the potential features of the upcoming AirTag. He believes that Apple is eyeing spatial computing as a new ecosystem, with the Vision Pro technology acting as its core. This integration could extend to other devices, including the much-anticipated AirTag 2. While the exact specifics of these new features are yet to be disclosed, it showcases Apple’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of spatial computing.

For those who are eagerly awaiting the new AirTag, it’s important to consider the current options available. The first-generation AirTag, available for purchase now, remains a reliable and effective tracking tool. If the need for a tracking device is immediate, waiting for the second generation, which Kuo suggests is more than a year away, might not be practical.

The current AirTag is available in a single pack for Rs 3,499 or a four-pack for Rs 11,900. Additionally, Apple offers free engraving for those purchasing directly from its website in India. It’s worth noting that to set up the AirTag, you will need an Apple iPhone or iPad, but tracking can be done using an Android device afterward.

In conclusion, while the next-generation AirTag promises exciting advancements in spatial computing integration, the current AirTag remains an excellent choice for those in need of a reliable tracking solution. Apple’s dedication to innovation ensures that any future upgrades will be worth the wait for those seeking the latest in tracking technology. In the meantime, users can make the most of the existing AirTag to keep track of their valuable items.
