Spanish mountain bike manufacturer Mondraker, renowned for high-performance mountain bikes, introduces the Crusher, an e-bike designed for extreme riders. With 150mm of rear wheel travel and 29-inch wheels, the Crusher maintains the same geometry and kinematics as its Bosch-powered counterpart, the Crafty, but adopts the latest Shimano EP801 motor for a thrilling ride.
Shimano EP801 Powerhouse
The Crusher is powered by Shimano’s EP801 Drive Unit, offering an impressive maximum torque of 60 pound-feet (85 Newton-meters) and a weight of just 5.94 pounds (2.7 kilograms). A substantial 750-watt-hour battery ensures extended trail adventures, outperforming the Crafty’s 720-watt-hour battery.
Three Exciting Build Models
Mondraker offers three distinct build models for the 2024 Crusher, all equipped with 38-millimeter stanchion forks, reliable four-piston brakes, and substantial 203/200-millimeter rotors. These components ensure confident and capable performance across various configurations.
Standard Crusher ($8,699): Features a Fox 38 Performance fork with the FIT damper for reliable front-end suspension and a Fox Float X Performance shock at the rear for balance. The Sram GX Eagle chainset powers the drivetrain, known for smooth and precise shifting.
Crusher R ($9,699): Offers a premium experience with top-tier components. Equipped with an Ohlins RXF 38 M.2 fork in the front and an Ohlins TTX 22 M air shock at the rear. The Sram X01 Eagle groupset ensures precision and smooth gear changes, while the Sram Bronze Stealth Brakes provide reliable stopping power.
Crusher RR ($11,399): Represents the pinnacle of Mondraker’s eMTB offerings. Features Ohlins suspension for exceptional off-road performance. The highlight is the Shimano Deore XT Di2 electronic groupset with a Free Shift function, enabling seamless and precise gear changes. Complementing the advanced drivetrain is the Mavic E-Deemax S carbon wheelset, reducing weight and enhancing agility.
