Google is set to unveil its upcoming hardware at the annual developer event, I/O 2023, in the US on May 10th. One of the anticipated announcements is the launch of the Google Pixel 7a, which has been generating excitement among tech enthusiasts.

According to rumours, the Pixel A-series phone will feature in four new colours and debut at the event. The device is tipped to feature a Google Tensor G2 SoC, making it a premium smartphone that will sit below the flagship Pixel 7 series.

New Colour Options

Evan Blass, aka EvLeaks, recently uploaded an image of the Google Pixel 7a in its new Coral colour option. This leak complements the exclusive reveal by Before You Take (BYT) weeks ago, where the phone was revealed to come in three other colour options – Grey, Silver and Light Blue. Therefore, the Pixel 7a is set to be the most colourful A-series phone.

Design Features

Based on the leaked details, the Pixel 7a will have a 6.1-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution, featuring a hole-punch cutout at the top centre for the 13MP front camera. Additionally, the smartphone will offer 90Hz refresh rate support with an adaptive refresh rate to switch between 60Hz and 90Hz refresh rates, depending on the on-screen content.

In terms of the phone’s rear design, the camera bar on the back has a lighter shade compared to the rest of the rear panel design. The device will feature a 64MP dual-camera setup on the back, including a 13MP ultra-wide camera sensor. It will also have a Tensor G2 SoC and the Google Titan M2 security chip, which is expected to ensure better performance and data protection.

Other Features Google is likely to claim that the new Pixel will offer up to 72 hours of battery life when it is in Extreme Battery Saver mode. The phone is expected to have a 4385mAh battery and offer 20W wired fast charging support. However, users will not expect a charger in the box.

Price and Availability

The Google Pixel 7a is likely to launch with a single 8GB + 128GB storage option for CAD 702 (roughly Rs 42,200). It will boot Android 13 out of the box.

Conclusion

The Google Pixel 7a will be a premium smartphone that promises to provide users with a seamless experience. The device’s unique features and colour options make it an exciting addition to the A-series phone lineup. The launch date is only a few days away, and fans cannot wait to see what Google has in store for them.
