Google is set to launch its latest lineup of smartphones at the annual Google I/O event, which is expected to take place in May 2023. Among the most anticipated devices are the Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold, which are expected to be available for pre-order or purchase on May 10th, 2023.
Pixel 7a: What We Know So Far
The Pixel 7a is the successor to the Pixel 6a and is expected to be an affordable yet powerful device. According to leaks, the Pixel 7a will feature a 6.1-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a dual-camera setup with a 64MP main camera sensor from Sony IMX787, and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. The phone is also rumored to come with 8GB of RAM and will be powered by Google’s custom Tensor G2 SoC for lightning-fast performance.
Design-wise, the Pixel 7a will feature a signature Pixel metallic visor-like camera module on the back and is expected to come in new color options exclusive to the Google Store, including Charcoal, Snow, Sea, and Coral. The phone will reportedly support 5W wireless charging and is rumored to have a 10.8MP front-facing camera.
Pixel Fold: What We Know So Far
The Pixel Fold is Google’s first foldable smartphone and is expected to launch alongside the Pixel 7a. However, it may not be available for purchase until June 27th. Leaks suggest that the phone will feature a 7.6-inch foldable OLED display with a resolution of 2208 x 1768 pixels. It will also reportedly come with 12GB of RAM, 512GB of internal storage, and a triple-camera setup with a 50MP main camera sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 12MP telephoto lens.
Other features of the Pixel Fold include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 4,500mAh battery with 33W fast charging, and support for 5G connectivity
