Google has announced that the Pixel 7a will be launched in India on May 11, a day after its global unveiling at the Google I/O event. The smartphone will be available exclusively on Flipkart, just like its predecessors, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.
The price of the device has not yet been confirmed by Google, but tipster Paras Guglani has hinted at a possible price range of Rs. 35K-39K, which would be significantly lower than the launch price of the Pixel 6a in India. Let’s take a closer look at the expected specifications of the upcoming device.
Design and Display
Rumored reports suggest that the Google Pixel 7a will have a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is expected to feature a hole-punch cutout on the top left corner of the screen for the front-facing camera.
Processor and Performance
The Pixel 7a is rumored to be powered by Google’s in-house Tensor G2 chipset, the same processor used in the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. The device will come with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage.
Camera
For photography, the Pixel 7a is expected to feature a 64MP rear camera with OIS and a 12MP ultra-wide camera, along with a 10.8MP front-facing camera for high-quality selfies.
Battery and Charging
The device will be equipped with a 4,400mAh battery that supports 20W wired charging and wireless charging. According to Google, the Pixel 7a’s battery can last up to 72 hours.
Operating System
The Pixel 7a is expected to run on Android 13 out of the box, making it one of the first devices to run on the latest version of the operating system.
Final Thoughts
The Google Pixel 7a is expected to be a mid-range smartphone with impressive features, including a powerful processor, generous RAM and storage capacity, exceptional cameras, and a long-lasting battery. Google’s decision to launch the device in India exclusively through Flipkart will make it more accessible to consumers in the country.
