WhatsApp is currently testing a redesigned context menu for its Android beta users, as reported by WABetaInfo. This fresh design offers a revamped approach to WhatsApp’s messaging interface.
The current stable version of WhatsApp displays only a limited set of emoji options for reactions when selecting a message, while other options like delete and forward are located on the top toolbar. However, the latest beta version introduces a new context menu design that resembles the iOS app, providing a drop-down list of options for messages.
A Resemblance to iOS Design:
The recently spotted WhatsApp version 2.23.11.4 showcases the new context menu design. The layout is similar to the context menu found in the iOS app, featuring options such as Delete, Forward, Reply, and Info in a drop-down list. Emoji reactions continue to appear on top of the message, ensuring ease of use.
Exclusive to WhatsApp Beta Testers:
It’s important to note that the redesigned context menu is still in the development phase and is accessible only to WhatsApp beta testers. This update indicates WhatsApp’s commitment to achieving design consistency across different operating systems while introducing a modern touch to the app’s interface.
Enhanced Features and User Experience:
Alongside the context menu redesign, WhatsApp is actively introducing various new features. These include the Chat Lock feature, providing enhanced security for conversations, improved polling functionality, flexible captioning in recent updates, and multi-device support, allowing users to access the same account on up to four phones. By constantly enhancing its features and design, WhatsApp aims to deliver an improved messaging experience for its users.
