Motorola has just launched the latest addition to its Edge series of smartphones – the Motorola Edge 40 Pro in Europe. The new smartphone boasts a range of impressive features, including a 165Hz pOLED display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of onboard storage. The phone is also water-resistant and supports fast charging. It is priced at EUR 899.99 (approximately Rs. 80,500) for the sole 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant.

Design and Display

The phone’s display is a 6.67-inch full-HD+ pOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and a 394ppi pixel density. It has a touch sampling rate of 360 Hz and supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The display is protected by a 3D curved Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with an anti-fingerprint coating.

Performance and Hardware

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro is powered by the flagship-level Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and runs on Android 13. It also features 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage, and a range of network options, including 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC.

Battery and Charging

The phone’s battery is a 4,600mAh battery that supports 125W fast charging and 15W wireless charging. A single charge of the battery is said to provide up to 30 hours of standby time. The phone also has an IP68-rated waterproof construction, four microphones, and Dolby Atmos-tuned dual stereo speakers.

Camera and Photography Features

Replacing last year’s Motorola Edge 30 Pro, the Motorola Edge 40 Pro features a triple back camera unit driven by a 50-megapixel essential sensor, a 12-megapixel portrait sensor, and an ultra-wide 50-megapixel sensor. The phone also has a 60-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.2 lens for taking selfies and video calls.
