DxOMark, the camera benchmarking website, has crowned the Oppo Find X6 Pro as the new king of smartphone cameras. Released in March this year, the Oppo Find X6 Pro has received an overall camera setup score of 153 points, the highest to date. The smartphone’s triple rear camera unit, produced in collaboration with Hasselblad, features a 50-megapixel Sony IMX988 primary sensor and two 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 sensors. In the photo test, the Oppo Find X6 Pro scored 153 points and 80 points, respectively, the highest scores ever awarded for photos. The phone has also received high marks for its night and low-light photography.

Breaking Down the Scores

DxOMark awarded the Oppo Find X6 Pro with 153, 154, 148, and 72 points for each of the individual features – photo, zoom, video, and preview, that it supports. The phone has also received high praise for its Bokeh capabilities, with a Bokeh score of 80 points, the highest among all smartphones.

The Oppo Find X6 Pro scored the highest for low-light performance with 132 points. The camera unit also performs exceptionally well in surface outcomes, with a top score of 118 points in the photograph and video tests. Additionally, DxOMark commended the phone’s detail preservation at all zoom levels, quick autofocus, and effective video stabilization.

Oppo Find X6 Pro’s Weaknesses

Despite these excellent scores, the camera unit does have certain shortcomings, as pointed out by DxOMark’s reviewers. These include dynamic range differences between the capture image and preview image, a lack of contrast in backlit portrait photos, exposure instability in photos and videos, and occasionally oversaturated skin tones.

The Oppo Find X6 Pro is available in China for CNY 5,999, which is approximately Rs. 72,200 for the model with 256GB storage and 12GB RAM. The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and comes with a 6.82-inch OLED display with a dynamic refresh rate of 1Hz-120Hz, running ColorOS 13.1 based on Android 13. The phone has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 50W wireless charging and 100W wired charging.

Conclusion

The Oppo Find X6 Pro has set a new benchmark for smartphone camera quality, receiving high praise from DxOMark’s reviewers. While the camera unit does have its flaws, its Bokeh capabilities, low-light photography, and exceptional surface outcomes have secured its position as the best smartphone camera to date.
