The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made it possible for users to change their Aadhaar card photo if they wish to do so. However, this process cannot be done online and will require a visit to your nearest Aadhaar Permanent Enrollment Centre. Steps to change the photo on your Aadhaar card

 

  1. Go to the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Center or Aadhaar Seva Kendra
  2. Download the Aadhaar Enrolment/Revision/Update form from the UIDAI website or request it from the executive at the center
  3. Fill in the required details on the form
  4. Submit the biometric details to the executive
  5. Get your live picture clicked at the center
  6. Pay a fee of Rs 100
  7. Receive an acknowledgment slip with a URN (Update Request Number)
  8. Check the UIDAI Aadhaar update status via the provided URN

 

Please note that no documents are required to update the photo on your Aadhaar card. The update process may take up to 90 days to complete. Once the photo is updated, you can download the new Aadhaar card by following these steps:

 

How to download the Aadhaar card with the updated photo

  1. Go to the Aadhaar page on the UIDAI website
  2. Click on “Download Aadhaar”
  3. Enter your Aadhaar Number, Enrolment ID, or Virtual ID
  4. Enter the captcha and click on “Send OTP”
  5. Enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number
  6. Click on “Verify and Download” to download the updated e-Aadhaar Card in PDF format

 

It is important to note that it is not possible to update your Aadhaar card photo online. UIDAI only allows users to update demographic details online with supported documents, such as name, address, date of birth, gender, phone number, and email.
