The highly anticipated POCO F5 and POCO F5 Pro are expected to be launched soon as the next iterations of POCO’s F-series smartphones. The launch of the POCO F5 series in India has already been hinted at by POCO Country Head Himanshu Tandon, and now, an impending POCO cell phone with the model number 23049PCD8I has been spotted on the Geekbench benchmark data set.
Geekbench Listing Reveals Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 Processor and 8GB RAM
According to the POCO F5 Geekbench listing, the device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor. The model number 23049PCD8I, which stands for the POCO F5 Indian variant, can be found in the Geekbench 5 benchmark database. In the single-core portion of the Geekbench 5 test, the smartphone achieved a score of 1118 points, and in the multi-core round, it scored 4236 points.
Moreover, the F-series smartphone’s Geekbench listing confirms support for 8GB of RAM, and the phone will come with Android 13 pre-installed, but it can be expected to have MIUI skin on top. The listing also shows that an octa-core processor with the code name marblein is present. There is a core running at 2.92 GHz, three cores running at 2.50 GHz, and four cores running at 1.80 GHz in the processor.
Speculations about POCO F5 Launch and Features
It has been speculated that the POCO F5 will most likely be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which was launched in China a few months ago. As previously mentioned, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo has a 6.67-inch OLED display that is certified for Dolby Vision and has a resolution of Full HD+. The smartphone supports Dolby Atmos audio and has stereo speakers. It also offers a triple-back camera arrangement including a 64MP primary camera and an 8MP super-wide-angle lens, as well as a 16 MP front camera for taking selfies. The smartphone supports 67W fast charging and has a 5000mAh battery. It packs a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and the device has up to 1TB of UFS 3.1 storage and up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM.
POCO India Head Himanshu Tandon has also stated that a forthcoming POCO smartphone will only be available in 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB configurations for the Indian market, and since the company is unlikely to offer 256GB storage in the base model of a smartphone in the M- or X-series, this ought to be the POCO F5.
Expected Launch Date and Price of POCO F5 in India
While an official launch date for the POCO F5 has not yet been announced, it is anticipated to be launched soon. The price of the POCO F5 is expected to be between INR 20,000 and INR 25,000 (roughly $265-$335), based on previous F-series smartphone prices.
