Reliance Jio, India’s largest telecom operator, is gearing up to introduce AirFiber services to the nation in the coming months. The AirFiber service, which provides high-speed internet without traditional wires, is expected to expand the telecom provider’s connected home strategy. In addition, the company plans to reach 100 million homes with its Jio Fiber and Air Fiber services in the next two to three years.

 

What is AirFiber, and When Will it be Available?

AirFiber services from Reliance Jio will soon be available throughout India. At the company’s upcoming AGM, Jio is expected to introduce the AirFiber service, which will provide high-speed internet without wires. According to Kiran Thomas, President of Reliance Industries, the availability of Jio AirFiber will occur in the upcoming months. The telecom operator plans to bring this service to customers when 5G will be available to most individuals.

 

Benefits of AirFiber Services

Air Fiber services can provide proper indoor coverage as well as capacity, speed, and differentiated spectrum holding. Additionally, Jio claims that its Home Gateway can provide Wi-Fi coverage of up to 1000 square feet. The company intends to expand its connected home strategy with the introduction of AirFiber services, which will complement its existing Jio Fiber services.

 

Jio’s Future Plans

Reliance Jio plans to expand its connected home strategy with the introduction of AirFiber services. In the next two to three years, the company plans to reach 100 million homes with its Jio Fiber and Air Fiber services. Additionally, Jio aims to cover all 22 circles in the country with its 5G services by the end of this year.

 

Jio’s Profit in March 2023

In March 2023, Reliance Jio reported a 13% increase in profit to Rs 4,716 crore. Despite investments in 5G services and the absence of plans to raise tariffs, this is the smallest increase in profits. In contrast, the company’s average revenue per user has increased to Rs 178.8 from Rs 167.6 in March 2022. Additionally, the company stated that its customers used more than 10 gigabytes of data in a month, with the typical user using 23.1GB of data per month.

AirFiber services from Jio will be available throughout India. Interested customers can purchase the service from Jio’s official website or other e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart.
