Samsung’s Galaxy Buds Live, also known as Galaxy Buds 2 Live, which was first introduced in 2019, is being phased out in favor of the upcoming Galaxy Buds 3, according to recent reports. The Galaxy Buds Live were known for their unique bean-shaped design and offered decent audio quality, but it seems Samsung has decided not to release a successor to the earbuds. Instead, the company is said to be focusing on the Galaxy Buds 3.
Galaxy Buds 3 Features and Release Date
Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 3 earbuds were introduced at the company’s Galaxy Unpacked event last year. The earbuds offer effective noise cancellation and an immersive audio experience, but they are a little on the heavy side with an in-ear design. A prominent leaker, Chunvn888, claims that the Galaxy Buds 3 are on its way, and they might debut alongside the new foldable devices, although no specific launch date has been announced.
Galaxy Buds 2 Live Discontinued
Chunvn888 also claims that Samsung will not be releasing the Galaxy Buds 2 Live. The original Buds Live offered touch controls for playback and calls, ANC and Ambient Sound mode, and a battery life of up to six hours. They were compatible with Bixby, Google Assistant, and Siri, had connectivity via Bluetooth 5.0, and were waterproof to IPX2. The six-color earbuds had three microphones and 12mm speakers.
Specs for the Galaxy Buds 3
Details about the Galaxy Buds 3 are still scarce, but they are expected to have the same design as their predecessors, albeit with better drivers and noise cancellation. Samsung may also include support for Spatial sound and other interesting features introduced with the Galaxy Buds 2 Ace. We will learn more about the earbuds in the coming days.
Overall, Samsung is making way for newer and better earbuds with the discontinuation of the Galaxy Buds 2 Live. While there may be some disappointment among fans of the earbuds, the Galaxy Buds 3 promises to be an exciting addition to Samsung’s audio lineup. Stay tuned for more updates on the upcoming earbuds from Samsung.
