Samsung is rumored to launch three premium Android tablets this year, with the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus being the middle member of the lineup. Geekbench has recently spotted the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ with a specially developed version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, hinting at its release in the second half of 2023.

So, what do we know about the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ so far? Let’s take a closer look at its features, specifications, and other known information.

Processor

According to the Geekbench listing, the global version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The device has a model number of SM-X816B and a peak clock speed of 3.36GHz, indicating that it will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 “For Galaxy” version, which is also used in the Galaxy S23 series.

RAM and Storage

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ is expected to feature 12GB of RAM, according to the Geekbench listing. It should come with at least 256GB of internal storage when it launches, along with Android 13 out of the box. One UI 5 will be the top layer on top of it.

Display and Design

Based on previous design renders, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ will feature some minor design changes over the active model. The design of the rear camera module is similar to that of the Galaxy S23 series, with an LED flash module stacked one below the other and two cutouts in the center. The S Pen is secured by a magnetic strip beneath the camera sensors.

The front of the tablet is almost identical, except for the addition of a secondary sensor on the right bezel adjacent to the front camera. It is unclear whether the secondary sensor will be an ultra-wide camera or another type of sensor. The display size will likely remain the same, at 12.9 inches, with an OLED display and a resolution of 1752 x 2800 pixels and 266 PPI.

Other Features

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ is expected to measure 285.4 x 185.4 x 5.64 inches, and there is no 3.5mm headphone jack on it. However, the tablet will have quad speakers and a USB Type-C port. It will also have an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.

Conclusion

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ is one of three premium Android tablets rumored to be released this year. It will feature a specially developed version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 12GB of RAM, and at least 256GB of internal storage. The tablet will have a 12.9-inch OLED display, a rear camera module similar to that of the Galaxy S23 series, and an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. We can expect the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ to hit the shelves in the second half of 2023.
