Xiaomi continues its strides with HyperOS, the innovative operating system for mobile devices, announcing its forthcoming deployment across a second wave of devices. The expansion includes a selection of popular smartphones, unveiling new UI upgrades, optimizations, and exciting features.

HyperOS Expansion

Initially unveiled just last month, HyperOS marked a significant step in Xiaomi’s software journey, catering to specific devices in their ecosystem. Now, the company has confirmed an extension of the rollout to several more devices, scheduled for next month.

Devices Slated for Update

The update targets an array of Xiaomi and Redmi devices, expanding the HyperOS developer version to 11 new devices, including Xiaomi’s flagship Xiaomi 12 series, Xiaomi 12S series, the Redmi K50 series, and the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro.

Noteworthy Omissions and Inclusions

While several anticipated models are set to receive the update, certain devices like the Xiaomi Pad 5 and the newly awaited Xiaomi 13 series were notably absent from the list. The initial announcement also overlooked the Xiaomi 12S series, later rectified due to its significance as the first Leica-branded Xiaomi smartphone on the market.

HyperOS Features Unveiled This system overhaul comes with an array of exciting enhancements:

Performance Boosts: Expect faster boot times and improved app retention in background memory.

AI-Powered Tools: AI text generation, doodle-to-image conversion, image search through natural language, and text extraction from images are among the anticipated features.

Interconnectivity: Seamless integration between devices allows for task continuation across different devices, call reception on multiple gadgets, and mutual device functionality, including using phone cameras as webcams for Xiaomi laptops and sharing mobile data.

Privacy and Security Measures: A more open-source approach, reinforced encryption, and enhanced permission management underscore the commitment to privacy.

New UI Elements: Enhanced lock screens, iOS-like widgets, Dynamic Island-style notifications, and a revamped Quick Settings menu will enrich the user experience.

With HyperOS on the horizon, Xiaomi continues to revolutionize its software offerings, bridging innovation with user-centric features for its expanding user base.
