Sony is all set to launch its flagship phone for 2023, the Sony Xperia 1 V, in just ten days. While past teasers hinted at a similar design to its predecessors, a new billboard in Hong Kong confirms a bold outlook for the upcoming phone.
Bold Design Confirmed: Three-Camera Vertical Design
The Sony Xperia 1 V will feature a three-camera vertical design on the back, which is quite similar to the previous flagship. However, there is a noticeable difference in the oval island of the back, which is now more prominent and features larger lenses. The image of the billboard appeared on Reddit, and the advertisement on the billboard reads, “One for all lights,” hinting that the Sony Xperia 1 V will double down on the low-noise camera sensor.
Next-Gen Double Low-Noise Camera Sensor
As per previous reports, Sony has chosen the IMX 989 as the primary camera for the Xperia 1 V. However, there is a chance that the phone may pack the IMX 858 as the main sensor, as it is the only available platform that supports the new low-noise LN2 mode. The IMX 858 also has a Multi-Camera Synchronization System (MCSS).
The LN2 mode of the Sony IMX 858 implements a new architecture of CMOS sensor technology that does not apply photodiodes and pixel transitions on the same plane and substrate. Instead, they are all stacked on top of each other, which expands the dynamic range and allows the sensor to absorb more light. With the IMX 858, the Xperia 1 V could offer a next-level low-light camera performance, which would be interesting to compare with the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
Exciting Times Ahead for Sony Fans
Sony fans eagerly await the launch of the Xperia 1 V, with the new billboard image providing a sneak peek into the phone’s design and camera capabilities. It is sure to be an exciting time ahead for Sony fans who are looking for a high-end smartphone with advanced camera features.
