Samsung is set to release its new Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 foldable phones later this year, with rumors suggesting they will be unveiled at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event in July or August 2023. In anticipation of the launch, more information has been leaked about the new devices, including a new water-drop hinge design and upgraded camera sensors.
According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will feature a triple-camera arrangement, with a 50MP main camera sensor, a 10MP telephoto camera, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. This camera setup is similar to the one found in the System S23 and Universe S23 Plus. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is said to have a 12MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and both phones are expected to have Android 13 pre-installed with the latest One UI software update.
In addition to the camera upgrades, a new hinge design is also expected for both the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. The phones will reportedly feature a new water-drop hinge design instead of the current U-shaped hinge, which should make the fold less visible. The exterior display of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is also said to be larger than its predecessor, with a 3.4-inch screen.
The new phones will also come with a customized version of Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, with the same peak clock speed as the Galaxy S23 series. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to have 12GB of RAM, while the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will come with 8GB of RAM.
As for color options, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 will reportedly be available in Beige, Grey, Light Green, and Light Pink, while the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to be available in Black and Light Blue.
In conclusion, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are highly anticipated devices, and the rumored camera upgrades, new hinge design, and other features make them even more exciting. Fans of Samsung will be eagerly awaiting their release in the latter part of 2023.
