The Google Pixel 8 Pro, scheduled for release in October this year, is generating significant buzz in the tech community. Recent CAD renders and insider reports have shed light on an intriguing feature that sets the Pixel 8 Pro apart from its predecessors and competitors—a built-in thermometer capable of measuring body temperature.

Earlier this year, leaked CAD renders of the Pixel 8 Pro offered a sneak peek at its design, revealing the presence of a new sensor alongside the triple camera unit and LED flash within the rear-facing camera bar. A reliable source, tipster Wojciechowski, has now disclosed that this additional sensor is, in fact, a built-in thermometer—an innovative feature that allows users to conveniently measure their body temperature using their smartphone.

Although a demonstration video showcasing the Pixel 8 Pro’s temperature measurement capabilities was briefly available, it has since been removed. However, according to reports, the thermometer functionality extends beyond measuring body temperature; it can also be used to gauge the temperature of objects.

To measure body temperature accurately with the Pixel 8 Pro, users must hold the device close to their forehead or skin, ensuring that it does not come into contact with the screen or any accessories. By pressing the start button on the screen and moving the phone toward the temple within five seconds, the device will display the measured temperature on its screen—a simple and convenient way to monitor one’s health.

In addition to its groundbreaking thermometer, the Pixel 8 Pro is rumored to feature a stunning 6.7-inch flat OLED panel, providing a vibrant and immersive visual experience. Powering the device will be the highly anticipated Google Tensor G3 chipset, reportedly based on Samsung’s unannounced Exynos 2300 chipset. This powerful combination promises to deliver exceptional performance and smooth multitasking capabilities.

Photography enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the Pixel 8 Pro’s rear camera setup will showcase Samsung’s ISOCELL GN2 camera sensor. With its impressive 50-megapixel resolution and a large 1/1.12-inch sensor, this advanced camera sensor will ensure breathtaking image quality and exceptional low-light performance.

As the launch date of the Pixel 8 Pro approaches, anticipation is building for this cutting-edge smartphone that brings together innovative health monitoring features and top-of-the-line specifications. Stay tuned for more updates and details on Google’s flagship device.
