Motorola recently made waves with the launch of its latest foldable smartphones, the Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra, in India. However, the company is not stopping there. Alongside its premium flip devices, Motorola is gearing up to release an affordable smartphone called the Moto G14. The Moto G14 serves as the successor to the well-received Moto G13, which hit the market back in January. With its recent FCC certification, it appears that the Moto G14 is ready for a global release.

The FCC listing unveils the Moto G14 with the model number XT2341-3, which interestingly matches the variant spotted on the BIS database in India. This connection strengthens the belief that the Moto G14 is indeed on its way. The FCC certification provides some key insights into the device, confirming that it will be a 4G smartphone with support for 2G, 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC. The operating system is expected to be based on Android 13, offering users a near-stock Android experience.

One particularly noteworthy detail from the FCC listing is the charging speed. The Moto G14 with the model number XT2341-3 will feature 20W fast charging. This is a significant improvement over its predecessor, the G13, which only offered limited 10W fast charging in the Indian variant while the global model enjoyed 20W fast charging. While the listing doesn’t reveal additional specifications, we can draw insights from the Moto G13’s spec sheet to get an idea of what to expect from the Moto G14.

Moto G13 specifications

The Moto G13 sports a centered punch-hole LCD display, measuring 6.5 inches with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. It runs on Android 13 out of the box, with the promise of an upgrade to Android 14 and three years of security updates.

Under the hood, the Moto G13 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, ensuring reliable performance for day-to-day tasks. In the camera department, it boasts a triple camera setup on the rear, including a 50MP primary shooter, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, there’s an 8MP front-facing camera.

Connectivity options on the Moto G13 include dual SIM support, 4G compatibility, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, and GNSS for accurate positioning. To keep you powered throughout the day, the device packs a generous 5,000mAh battery. However, one limitation of the Moto G13 is its charging capability, as it only supports 10W charging.

While the Moto G14’s complete specifications are yet to be officially confirmed, the FCC listing and its connection to the Moto G13 give us a glimpse of what we can expect. With improved fast charging and likely enhancements in other areas, the Moto G14 has the potential to be a budget-friendly smartphone that offers a compelling user experience. Stay tuned for more updates on the Moto G14 as it gears up for its global release.
