Motorola is all set to release its latest flagship smartphone, the Edge 40 Pro, in India. Prior to its launch, it has been reported that the smartphone will be rebranded as the Motorola X40. Renders and pricing of the device have already been leaked, giving us an insight into the smartphone’s specifications.
The Motorola X40 or Edge 40 Pro will have a triple-back camera in a square module placed on the upper right of the backboard. The back panel will feature the company’s logo in the middle, while the microphone and secondary speaker grille will be located on the top. On the bottom, there will be a SIM card tray, primary speaker grille, microphone, and USB type-C port.
The smartphone will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.0 storage under the hood. It will come with a Full HD+-resolution 6.67-inch pOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, support for HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and a peak brightness of 1300 nits. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus will be applied to the front and rear panels.
Motorola has opted for an in-display fingerprint sensor for authentication, as it has not integrated a fingerprint sensor into the power button. The smartphone will be powered by a 4600mAh battery with support for 125W wired fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging.
The primary 50MP sensor with OIS and an f/1.8 aperture will be part of the triple-rear camera setup. The primary sensor will be accompanied by a 12MP telephoto lens with a 2x optical zoom and an ultra-wide-angle lens with 50MP. The smartphone will also feature a large 60MP selfie camera housed in the punch hole in the display.
According to SnoopyTech, the 12GB and 256GB variants of the Motorola X40 or Edge 40 Pro will start at 899 Euro, or approximately Rs 79,900. However, due to the differences in taxation between India and Europe, prices in India are expected to be significantly lower. It has been reported that the smartphone will be sold in India for less than Rs 80,000.
The smartphone will come out of the box with MyUX 5.0, which is based on Android 13. With these impressive features, the Motorola X40 or Edge 40 Pro is expected to be a top-of-the-line smartphone and a tough competitor in the market. We can’t wait to see it hit the shelves and see how it performs in the hands of consumers.
