OPPO, the prominent Chinese smartphone manufacturer, is generating excitement with the upcoming launch of the OPPO A18 and A38 smartphones. While the official launch date remains undisclosed, these devices have garnered multiple certifications from various authorities including NBTC, SIRIM, Indonesia Telecom, and TDRA. Furthermore, their presence on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification suggests that an Indian launch may be imminent. The FCC certification has also unveiled some key details about the A38.
Eagerly Anticipating the Launch of OPPO A18 and A38
According to NBTC certification, the devices will be named OPPO A18 and A38 respectively. Their model numbers, CPH2591 for the A18 and CPH2579 for the A38, have been consistently confirmed by SIRIM, Indonesia Telecom, and TDRA certifications. Additionally, the A38 has obtained FCC certification, revealing its status as a 4G smartphone with ColorOS 13.1 software. The BIS certification further reinforces the potential for an Indian launch.
Beyond the moniker, model number, and software version, these certifications don’t disclose detailed specifications for the A18 and A38. However, it’s likely that the OPPO A18 will serve as a successor to the OPPO A17, while the A38 follows the OPPO A37. The OPPO A17 debuted in September of the previous year, while the A37 was first introduced in 2016.

The OPPO A17 boasts a 6.56-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution and a pixel density of 269 PPI. Powered by the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC, the A17 offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Notable features include a dual-camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, a 5MP front camera, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 5,000mAh battery.
In contrast, the A37 features a 5.0-inch IPS LCD display. Its octa-core Snapdragon 410 SoC is accompanied by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The A37 includes an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, and a 2,630mAh battery.
