Realme has officially confirmed the name of its upcoming flagship phone for the Chinese market, and it’s none other than the Realme GT 5. The confirmation was made during the ongoing 2023 China Joy tech exhibition in China, where the moniker “Realme GT 5” was spotted at the brand’s booth. Speculations had been circulating about Realme’s next phone featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, and now, with the official confirmation, we can look forward to the Realme GT 5’s arrival.

Realme GT 5 and GT 5 Pro: What to Expect

The Realme GT 5 is slated to make its debut in August in China, while the GT 5 Pro is expected to launch towards the end of this year or in the first quarter of 2024. The GT 5 series is also rumored to include another model, the Realme GT 5 Pro, which is said to be equipped with Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship chip.

For the Realme GT 5, we can expect a stunning 6.74-inch OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and an impressive 144Hz refresh rate. Running on Android 13 with Realme UI 4.0, it will boast a 16-megapixel front camera and a powerful triple camera setup on the back. The primary camera will feature a Sony IMX890 50-megapixel sensor with OIS support, accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

Under the hood, the Realme GT 5 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, offering up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Additionally, there will be two battery variants available – one with a 4,600mAh capacity supporting 240W fast charging, and another with a 5,200mAh capacity offering 150W fast charging.
