As the six-month mark approaches since the release of the Samsung Galaxy S23 phones, the tech world’s attention is turning to the speculated details of the upcoming mainline Galaxy S24 series. Recent reports suggest that the Galaxy S24 lineup, including the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra, might sport cutting-edge M13 OLED displays.

The M13 OLED Panels: A Leap Forward in Display Technology

South Korean publication Chosun has reported that the Samsung Galaxy S24 series could mark a significant display upgrade, thanks to the incorporation of M13 OLED panels. These new panels are expected to offer enhanced quality compared to Samsung’s existing M12 technology. Furthermore, they are anticipated to be thinner and more power-efficient, contributing to improved battery life.

The Race to Introduce M13 Panels Interestingly, earlier this year, The Elec claimed that even Apple’s upcoming iPhone 15 series would be utilizing Samsung’s M12-based OLED panels. If this turns out to be accurate, it would mean that Samsung is leading the industry in adopting the newer generation display technology ahead of its competitors.

Elevating Performance with Exynos Chipsets

The Chosun report also hints at Samsung’s potential reintroduction of its in-house Exynos chipsets with the Galaxy S24 series. It’s speculated that the Exynos 2400 SoC might power certain variants of the Galaxy S24 in specific markets. This would mark a shift from the Galaxy S23 series, which primarily featured the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset across all regions.

A Boost in Memory

The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and S24 Ultra are not only expected to shine in the display and chipset departments but also in terms of memory. Reports suggest that the base models, S24 and S24+, could come equipped with 12GB of RAM, an upgrade from the 8GB in their S23 counterparts. Meanwhile, the premium S24 Ultra might boast an impressive 16GB of RAM, up from the 12GB seen in the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Release Date and Expectations

While the exact release date of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series remains uncertain, the company has historically unveiled its flagship S series phones in the early months of the year. Following this trend, the Galaxy S24 series is likely to make its debut in the early part of the upcoming year, introducing new advancements in display technology, performance, and memory to Samsung enthusiasts worldwide.
