In a significant move that aligns with India’s “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India) initiatives, Realme has announced a strategic partnership with Optiemus Electronics Ltd. (OEL) to locally manufacture its next-generation Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) products. This collaboration aims to scale up domestic production while establishing India as a key hub for AIoT innovation and global exports.

Key Highlights of the Partnership

Domestic Production Focus: Realme will manufacture its AIoT products including earphones, smartwatches, and tablets in India.

Production Begins: The first product, Realme Buds T200 Lite, is already in production.

Employment Boost: The initiative aims to generate over 2,000 local job opportunities.

Production Target: The two companies plan to manufacture 5 million AIoT devices annually.

Export Ambitions: Realme is exploring the potential to export “Made-in-India” AIoT products globally.

Deepening Commitment to ‘Make in India’

This partnership marks a key milestone in Realme’s long-term vision to move its entire AIoT portfolio to Indian production lines. Starting this year, several popular Realme products—such as the Realme Buds T200 series, Buds Wireless series, and Buds Air series—will be manufactured domestically.

Realme also plans to source critical components locally, including:

Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs)

Batteries

Mechanical parts

Charging accessories

Cables

This will not only reduce dependency on imports but also foster a stronger local component ecosystem.

Employment and Economic Impact

Realme and Optiemus Electronics plan to create over 2,000 direct and indirect jobs through this initiative. As production scales up, the move is expected to train and employ a skilled workforce in advanced electronics manufacturing, thus contributing meaningfully to India’s employment landscape and industrial growth.

Export Potential and Global Reach

Another major aspect of this collaboration is the potential to export Made-in-India Realme AIoT devices to global markets. This aligns with India’s ambitions to emerge as a global electronics manufacturing and export powerhouse. With OEL’s state-of-the-art facilities and Realme’s robust product portfolio, the two companies are well-positioned to achieve this.

First Product Rollout: Realme Buds T200 Lite

Production has officially started with the Realme Buds T200 Lite, a new pair of earbuds featuring:

Dual Mic AI Deep Call Noise Cancellation

DNN Voice Recognition Technology

This product showcases the combined technical expertise of Realme and the advanced manufacturing capabilities of OEL.

Official Statements

Realme Spokesperson:

“India is a dynamic and fast-growing market for next-generation AI-enabled hearables, wearables, and power management devices. Our collaboration with Optiemus Electronics Ltd. (OEL) will expand our domestic manufacturing base and enable us to cater to both local and international markets.”

Ashok Gupta, Chairman, Optiemus Group:

“We are thrilled to partner with Realme. The fusion of AI and IoT is redefining how hearable and wearable products function. Our role in this collaboration reinforces our commitment to shaping India’s electronics manufacturing future.”

Conclusion

Realme’s collaboration with Optiemus Electronics marks a pivotal moment for the AIoT sector in India. By emphasizing local manufacturing, component sourcing, job creation, and global exports, Realme is not only contributing to India’s self-reliance but also paving the way for technological innovation rooted in Indian soil. This strategic move could set the tone for similar partnerships across the industry, further strengthening India’s position as a global electronics manufacturing hub.
