Tata Group, the renowned Indian multinational conglomerate, is set to enter the world of iPhone manufacturing. The company’s recent acquisition of Wistron’s India operations signals a significant move into the production of Apple iPhones, with the aim of exporting them to global markets within two and a half years.
India’s Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, stating, “Within just two and a half years, Tata Companies will now start making iPhones from India for domestic and global markets.” He also congratulated the Tata team for taking over Wistron operations.

Chandrasekhar further affirmed the Indian government’s full support for the growth of Global Indian Electronics companies, emphasizing their role as trusted manufacturing and talent partners for global electronic brands. This aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of positioning India as a global electronics powerhouse.
