Instagram, the beloved social media platform recognized for its transient yet engaging Stories, might soon witness an innovative addition. Since its introduction in 2016, Instagram Stories has been a dynamic feature, enabling users to share fleeting moments through photos and videos vanishing after 24 hours. This function has significantly contributed to Instagram’s success, amassing a colossal daily user count of 500 million by 2019. Now, the platform owned by Meta, formerly known as Facebook, is gearing up to introduce a new capability.
Profile Sharing on Instagram Stories: A potential new feature spotted by developer Alessandro Paluzzi suggests that Instagram may soon allow users to share other users’ profiles on their Stories.
Functionality Similar to “Add to Story”: The upcoming feature is said to work akin to the existing “Add to Story” option, where users can display another profile on their Instagram Story and invite followers to visit and follow the user’s account or page.
Visibility Boost for Profiles: This feature, once live, is expected to assist in increasing the profile visibility and follower count of content creators and influencers. The shared profiles are anticipated to disappear after 24 hours, similar to the transient nature of photos and videos on Stories.
Recent Instagram Additions: Instagram has been introducing several new features, including a song lyrics display for Reels, enhanced Reels editing tools allowing cropping and rotating individual clips and an expanded Close Friends feature for selective content sharing.
Subscription Service: Meta, Instagram’s parent company, has introduced a paid ad-free subscription for Instagram users in the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA), and Switzerland, enhancing user options and experiences
Stay tuned for more updates as Instagram continues to evolve with these promising additions, potentially revolutionizing the user experience once again.
