Infinix’s gaming-focused smartphone, the GT 10 Pro, made quite a splash when it launched in India in August. Offering impressive specifications for under ₹20,000, it garnered attention for its flashy design. However, the GT 10 Pro is no longer available at its original launch price. Infinix has quietly increased its price by ₹1,000.

Launch Price and Subsequent Increase

The Infinix GT 10 Pro initially hit the Indian market with a price tag of ₹19,999, and this price remained consistent when it first went on sale on August 10. However, at the time of writing, the phone is listed on Flipkart for ₹20,999. A Twitter user named Yash (@i_hsay) brought this unannounced price hike to our attention, pointing out that Infinix has employed similar tactics with previous smartphones.

Lack of Official Explanation

Infinix has not provided a specific reason for this price increase. It is unusual for companies to raise prices after a product’s release, but it does occur occasionally. For instance, Nothing increased the price of the Ear (1) from $99 to $150 last year, citing reasons like rising inflation and a weaker British pound.

Regarding the Infinix GT 10 Pro, the brand has not offered any official explanation for the price adjustment. This move might be an attempt to counterbalance the rising costs of components or an effort to maximize profit margins on the smartphone.

Value Despite the Price Increase

Despite the ₹1,000 price hike, it’s essential to recognize that the Infinix GT 10 Pro still offers good value. Boasting a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 108MP primary camera, the handset remains a strong contender in its price category. Furthermore, with the GT 10 Pro’s Dimensity 8050 chip and eye-catching design, it provides an affordable alternative to Nothing Phone (2).
