Samsung is gearing up for the launch of the fifth generation of its popular Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip series. Ahead of the Unpacked event scheduled in Korea next month, leaked renders and detailed specifications of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 have surfaced online. The leaks indicate that both foldable smartphones will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and run on Samsung‘s One UI 5.1.1 based on Android 13. Galaxy Z Fold 5 Render and Specifications

According to the leaked information shared by tipster SnoopyTech (@snoopytech) via XDA Developers, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 showcases a hole-punch display design with minimal bezels and comes in three color options. The render suggests a design language similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, with a vertically arranged triple camera setup on the back. The right edge houses the volume rockers and power button.

 

As for the specifications, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to feature a dual SIM (nano+eSIM) configuration running on Android 13 with One UI 5.1.1. The device is likely to sport a 7.6-inch full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED inner display with a dynamic refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz. The outer screen is rumored to be a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a resolution of 904 x 2,316 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

 

Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is anticipated to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, coupled with 12GB of RAM. Storage options may include 256GB and 512GB. In terms of camera capabilities, the device could feature a 50-megapixel primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, accompanied by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 12-megapixel telephoto shooter with f/2.2 apertures. For selfies and video chats, there might be a 10-megapixel front camera with f/2.2 aperture. Additionally, the device could boast a 4-megapixel under-display camera with f/1.0 aperture on the internal display.

It is likely to feature a 6.7-inch full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED main display with a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The outer screen is rumored to be a 3.4-inch panel with a resolution of 748 x 720 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz.

 

Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM. Storage options may include 256GB and 512GB. In terms of camera specifications, the device is said to sport a 12-megapixel primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide shooter with f/2.2 aperture. For selfies, there could be a 10-megapixel front camera with f/2.4 aperture.

 

Connectivity options may include a USB Type-C 3.2 port, Bluetooth 5.2, and Wi-Fi 6E. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to be equipped with a 3,700mAh battery and measure 71.9 x 85.1 x 15.1mm.
