OnePlus is setting up its heat to launch the first foldable smartphone in the coming months. The new update comes from the company’s co-founder Pete Lau who shared pictures on Twitter quoting hints about building a new foldable smartphone. However, the details are hidden for now. Samsung is an early riser in introducing foldable smartphones. Xiaomi also made its entry in the foldable phones category with the launch of Mix Fold 2. Moto Razr 2022 has stepped into the Chinese markets and Oppo launched Find N foldable in the last quarter of 2021.
Posting pictures on Twitter, Pete Lau tweeted – “What do you think this is?” It is noted to be the folding screen mechanism of the upcoming OnePlus phone. Though there’s no confirmation from the company, it’s expected that OnePlus Fold might make its debut soon with Android 13 OS. The foldable OnePlus phone could match the similarities of Oppo’s Find N based on the rumors that appeared on social media platforms.
The Oppo Find N has a 7.1-inch folding display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 5.49-inch covered OLED display. Snapdragon 888 SoC is the core chip coupled with 12GB+512GB. The phone has a triple camera setup with a primary sensor of 50MP designed by Sony, a 16MP ultra-wide angle lens, and a 13-MP telephoto lens. Having a 4500mAh battery and 33W fast charging, the phone is one of its kind in the foldable category.
Samsung, indeed, has a powerful influence in the foldable smartphone market according to a report released by Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC).
